PSU Technology Group has been providing its portfolio of IT and Telecoms solutions to UK businesses for more than 25 years.
PSU (which stands for 'Precision Second User') was formed in 1986, specialising in the supply, repair and maintenance of second user servers and network infrastructure from a small workshop in Gloucester.
The company relocated to Cheltenham in 1993 and throughout the subsequent years continued to expand its diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients, including embarking upon a longstanding relationship with British Energy; providing on-site maintenance of critical monitoring systems for their nuclear power station reactor in the North West. Other projects included working with West Mercia Police on early internet monitoring and major IT support contracts for the NHS.
As the voice and data industries converged during the late nineties, PSU responded by recruiting a team of telephony specialists and embarked upon cross-training the entire customer facing staff in both disciplines.
Following a management buyout in 2003, the Group has grown to comprise several distinct but complementary divisions. PSU continues to provide specialist IT support and business telephone systems for SMEs and corporate organisations across the UK. The company acquired fixed line and mobile reseller Aribus Ltd in 2009, which became PSU Talk and offers clients calls, lines and billing cost savings. Finally, PSU Software provides web-based content management and ecommerce solutions for business. The company's portfolio of services, combined with its sales and engineering expertise, means that there are now very few occasions when PSU cannot deliver to a customer's exact requirements.
Quality Assured Service
As a service company, PSU has always considered regular training, certification and accreditation as an essential part of its ongoing business. In fact, when British Standards launched its BS5750 standard for service; PSU adopted it from the outset and gained accreditation in 1994 making it one of the first companies in the industry to do so. Today, the company continues to hold the ISO 9001:2008 accreditation as part of its continued focus on service excellence.
Celebrating a quarter of a century
During 2011, PSU celebrates 25 years in business and as part of the anniversary celebrations has completely revamped the front of its Cheltenham headquarters, with eye-catching new signage and lighting. Here's to the next 25 years and beyond!
