Welcome to the summer edition of the PSU Newsletter
Reflecting over the last 24 months and scan reading some of our past issues of the newsletter I am pleased to see that the business strategy of being an all encompassing Business Technology Solution Provider is taking shape very well indeed. An interesting article to read is a one I wrote nearly three years ago in which I laid out our plans for the future and covered topics such as the reasons for our re-branding and the introduction of a new business division named PSU Software.

PSU Software - Three Years On
I am very proud to note that three years on PSU Software is performing extremely well in the provision of some excellent web solutions to both existing and new clients. As the name suggests, PSU Software is a division of PSU, which specialises in software solutions with a particular emphasis on web based development. In its most basic form, it could be the provision of a simple ‘self managed’ website through to a fully functioning e-commerce website displaying product databases with CRM integration. PSU Software also carries out bespoke web development such as online finance calculators, mapping services, questionnaires and customer extranets / intranets. PSU Software is at the forefront of internet technology and enjoy the challenge of delivering solutions that some of our customers had not thought possible.
A notable web solution to highlight is the provision of fifty websites to Inchcape PLC promoting their vast stock holding of pre-owned Volkswagen vehicles for their many VW dealerships across the UK. You can view one of the websites dedicated to the VW Passat here www.used-vw-passat-sale.co.uk and a page detailing their dealerships here > www.volkswagen-inchcape.co.uk/Contact.aspx
PSU Talk - Acquisition of Aribus Ltd
PSU Talk has been a division of PSU since 2000. PSU Talk was initially setup to provide low cost calls expanding into the provision of low cost line rentals in 2007. During 2008 the Board of Directors decided it was a natural progression to provide our customers with Mobile, Blackberry & Broadband offerings so we embarked on a much focussed strategy of identifying and acquiring a business that specialised in all of these areas.
I am pleased to announce that in February 2009, PSU Talk successfully acquired the full issued share capital of Aribus Ltd and the merger of both businesses was complete in March 2009. You can read more about the acquisition of Aribus Ltd and the Mobile Services which you can take advantage of in a dedicated article within this newsletter: www.psu.co.uk/uploads/news/summer09/network-services.htm
Plans for the remainder of 2009
The remainder of 2009 will see substantial investment in our back office systems, in particular the introduction of an Internet Customer Portal which will integrate directly with our CRM, finance, fault logging and telephone billing systems. The Portal will provide our customers with an in-depth view of their account activities including maintenance contract details, telephone calls, line rentals and mobile billing, quotations and invoices, fault and job ticket updates plus ftp and document exchange capabilities. The Customer Portal will unite the divisions of PSU Technology Group, PSU Talk and PSU Software under one common platform, shaping the way in which we operate and allowing us to interact and communicate with our customers in a highly efficient and effective way.
I would encourage you to read through this newsletter as there are some very interesting articles, in particular, the piece on Cloud Computing.
Yours truly,
Michael Lounton
Managing Director
